PCPC Worship and the Arts
What is Worship?
Worship is the greatest and grandest privilege of our Christian lives. In worship we magnify God in the beauty of holiness. At PCPC, we have a bold, joyful, exuberant, and participatory style of worship which is a careful blend of dignity and freedom. Our worship strives to be "high" and majestic, yet warm and personal. Sundays at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 am.
Music strives to praise the beautiful character of God.
PCPC Arts Academy
We seek to train children and adults to be thoughtful and skilled worshipers for the glory of God. To that end, the PCPC Arts Academy offers private lessons in piano and voice, as well as an early-childhood music program, Musikgarten. For more information, please visit the Arts Academy website: www.pcpcartsacademy.org.
When we sing
- The Chancel Choir leads worship in Sunday services, celebration occasions, and special concerts. Practices are NOW on Wednesday evenings, 7:00-9:00 pm in Room 300. J. Marty Cope, 214-224-2638.
- Children’s and Youth Choirs offer music and worship literacy through a comprehensive graded choir program for children, ages kindergarten through 12th grade. The choirs praise God through song in worship services and in other events. Lynda Fray, 214-224-2636.
- The Lord's Supper is the symbol of the Gospel visibly portrayed. We believe that Christ is present in a special way at the breaking of the bread. Communion is celebrated several times yearly during the 9:30 and 11:00 am Sunday worship services, every Sunday during the 8:00 am service, and every Wednesday evening at Vespers.
- Vespers, is held each Wednesday at 5:30 pm in the Chapel and provides a brief time of worship, including a short meditation and the sacrament of the Lord's Supper.
